SHAMAKHI - ULUDUZ - CHUKHURYURD

We are sure that, historical sites and nature scenes will admire you throughout the tour. You will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the historic settlements, the ancient fortress and the ruins of the castle. The view of Shamakhi city and Pirgulu State Reserve which opens from Gulustan mountain will fascinate you. In addition, the road which passes from forest and pasture areas will completely relieve you from the stress of the city. After passing dense forested canyon we will reach to the lake Chukhuryurd. Our last station will be Shamakhi Juma Mosque which is the second built mosque in the Caucasus.

According to our tour plan, we will depart from Shamakhi to the Boyuk Khinisli village. This village name first time mentioned in Arabian sources in the 4th century. Then we will go toward Gulustan mountain. At the peak of the mountain, you will see the ruins of the Gulustan fortress, which had been built in the IX century. You and your friends will be admired with the photos which will be taken at the top of the mountain. After brief information about the castle, we will drink water from the nearby spring before directed to the forest. At the end of the strip of forest we will have lunch nearby another spring. This wide plain is known as a Uludagh from the period of Shirvanshahs. These territories are still uses as a sown and pastures. After looking to Ulugol (approximately from 2km distance) we will go the dense forested canyon. You will have canyon impression while going by the disappearing path which in passing from the wooden river valley.

This forest canyon will end at the lake of Chukhuryurd. Then we will return to Shamakhi by car. If we will have enough time we will visit Shamakhi Juma Mosque (743-744) in the Shamakhi city.
